Chef Matthew Burton, CEC, CHE, CRC

Chef Burton is the newest chef to join Unilever FoodSolutions team  but with 15 years of industry experience he is far from being a rookie!

Chef Burton is the only chef in America who has the 3 certifications he holds, from three different distinguished associations.   He was one of the youngest to ever pass the Certified Executive Chef test from the American Culinary Federation, and was one of the first Certified Research Chefs in the country from the Research Chefs Association, he also has the honor of being a Certified Hospitality Educator.

After graduating from The Culinary Institute of America, Chef Burton continued his studies around the world including Thailand, Germany, Switzerland, and time with Celebrity Chef Rick Bayless in Mexico studying Traditional Latin Cuisine.

Chef Burton maintains professional involvement in numerous culinary organizations including the American Culinary Federation, Research Chef Association, The Institute of Food Technologists, and the Kansa City BBQ Society

Chef has been in over 100 different trade magazines and articles and has been featured all over the country in Radio TV and Web videos. He has been asked to speak at numerous conferences including the National Restaurant Show in Chicago, RCA National Conventions, as well as being a guest speaker at The Culinary Institute of America Graystone, in St Helena California.

In addition to being a culinary guru, Chef Burton has years of experience in product R&D, with his background in food science he holds 3 patents in new food packaging technologies and has been involved in over 25 new retail product innovations currently on store shelves.

Chef Matt is a proud founding member of the Unilever BBQ Competition Team “U Bacon Me Crazy!!”  that competes all over the Midwest using Unilever products.
