How do you turn an LTO into a permanent menu item? The Unilever Food Solutions team worked with the Rising Roll Gourmet sandwich chain to develop an LTO sandwich that turned out to be so popular, it’s now on the menu all the time. The Pimiento Cheese BLT with Hellmann’s® Real Mayonnaise was appealing, as it used ingredients that were already on hand to make a sandwich that was nostalgic, easy to prepare and had a low food cost. During the six months the sandwich was on the menu as an LTO, it brought in $93,500 in additional sales.
