Prepare the Shrimp Paste

  • Vegetable oil 30.0 ml
  • Garlic cloves, peeled and chopped 4.0 each
  • Gkapi shrimp paste 8.0 ml

Finish the Dish

  • Oyster sauce 5.0 ml
  • Thai red chili, cut 5.0 each
  • Bitter beans 100.0 g
  • Sugar 25.0 g
  • Tiger prawns 8.0 each
  1. Prepare the Shrimp Paste

    • Heat vegetable oil in a sauté pan. Add garlic andshrimp paste.
    • Roast the crumbled shrimp paste in the pan until the colour changes to a brown from the purplish appearance. Be careful not to burn to paste.
  2. Finish the Dish

    • Add the rest of the paste, shrimp, bitter beans and season with sugar, oyster sauce and fry together until fragrant and cooked. Garnish with the chili and serve with rice.
