Stir Fried Shrimp with Bitter Beans
A simple, yet flavorful dish gets its signature flavor from fermented shrimp paste.

Prepare the Shrimp Paste

Vegetable oil 30.0 ml

Garlic cloves, peeled and chopped 4.0 each

Gkapi shrimp paste 8.0 ml
Finish the Dish

Oyster sauce 5.0 ml

Thai red chili, cut 5.0 each

Bitter beans 100.0 g

Sugar 25.0 g

Tiger prawns 8.0 each
Preparation

Prepare the Shrimp Paste
- Heat vegetable oil in a sauté pan. Add garlic andshrimp paste.
- Roast the crumbled shrimp paste in the pan until the colour changes to a brown from the purplish appearance. Be careful not to burn to paste.

Finish the Dish
- Add the rest of the paste, shrimp, bitter beans and season with sugar, oyster sauce and fry together until fragrant and cooked. Garnish with the chili and serve with rice.
